About Nile Perch:
The Nile Perch is a beautiful silver fish with a blue tinge in color, a distinctive dark black eye, with a bright yellow outer ring. It was originally found in the Congo River, the Nile, the Senegal River, the Volta River and Lake Chad and was introduced to the pristine waters of Lake Victoria more than 50 years ago. It is also known for having the highest content of Omega – 3 found in sea food.
Nile Perch is one of the largest freshwater fish and reaches a maximum length of nearly 2m, weighing up to 200kg. Mature fish average 1.20-1.40 cm, and since Nile Perch grows very large, it is significantly popular among fishermen, as well as being a valuable source of food. The fillets are exported to other parts of Africa and the rest of the world.
